A young woman with special needs was traveling alone through Reagan National, got confused and missed her flight. The woman was upset and not sure what to do or where to go. She called her mother in California to ask for help. Her mother then called the airport frantically hoping to find someone who could track her daughter down and assist.
The mother thankfully was connected with Officer Byers, MWAA police. After speaking with the mother and giving her reassurance, Officer Byers went into the terminal and found the young woman. He chatted with her, provided her with encouragement, and helped get her settled for her rebooked flight. He even bought her a sandwich for dinner. He then called the mother to let her know that her daughter was ok and ready for her flight. The mother was overjoyed that someone took the time to personally care for her daughter and the young woman continued on her journey.
