The happy customer reunited with his wallet
Travelers Aid Volunteer, Alan Davis was approached by a customer for help retrieving his wallet from his American Airlines flight he just deplaned. The passenger ran up to the desk knowing time was of the essence as flights do not routinely sit at Reagan National. Alan grabbed the man's boarding pass and immediately ran to the gate. The passenger watched in dismay as he saw the plane pulling back from the gate.
He thought all hope was lost, but Alan was a man on a mission. When he got to the gate he spoke with American Airlines management staff at the gate who immediately radioed the operations team on the ramp. The operations team called the flight crew.
The flight attendant retrieved the wallet from the seat back pocket and then provided it to the cockpit. The Captain and First Officer then opened the side cockpit window and tossed the wallet down to the AA crew. The wallet then was taken into the terminal to the volunteer who then returned the wallet to the very happy customer. Whew!
